A wonderful way to spend a day any time of the year Leavenworth, Washington area wineries offer

Bird Watching
Pine River Ranch is a wonderful site for bird watching!
Each suite comes complete with bird watching guide books and
binoculars for your to roam around our nature trail and spot
over 30 different species of birds! For the more avid bird
watcher there are seven sites listed in the area, selected by
Audubon as some of the best birding hotspots in the state.
Waterfront Park, only a few blocks from downtown, has tall
cottonwoods and other important streamside vegetation full
of many species. Look for Gray Catbird,
Veery and Bullock’s
Oriole. The Wenatchee and Icicle Rivers offer a watery oasis
for birds and other wildlife, and are home to Belted
Kingfisher, Harlequin Duck and Wood Duck. Osprey are
becoming more abundant in the valley, recovering from the
impact of pesticides that damaged their eggs and are no
longer in use. Pick up a free copy of the map illustrating
this traveler's trail at the Leavenworth Chamber of Commerce
or Barn Beach Reserve at 347 Division Street.

Fishing & Hunting
A variety of fishing
is available. Fish Lake is very popular for trout fishing.
Mule deer and elk hunting is also available. Check with the
Department of Game for season information and details.

Hiking
The Wenatchee National Forest :
Consists of 2.2 million acres and approximately 40
percent is designated as Wilderness in seven Wilderness
Areas. There are over 2,500 miles of recreational
trails...be sure to pack a lunch! We also have a easy nature
trail throughout the property for a leisurely stroll to
Nason Creek, or we can direct you to great
trails that are
just a short drive away.
