May 9 - 11  -  Maifest  

Celebrate spring in Bavaria. Enjoy entertainment all weekend. Experience the Grand March and procession including horses and carriages, wagons, Bernese Mountain dogs pulling their carts, and lots of people wearing Bavarian attire. May 9-11 Maifest VolksFest

A multi-event, three day festival of walks. Volkksport is a century old German tradition of a yearly sporting event, one of which is walking. Anyone who is able may participate. These are sanctioned events held in all 50 states as well as over 40 countries.

May 16 – 18  -  Leavenworth Spring Bird Fest

The Leavenworth area  attracts a wide variety of birds. See calliope hummingbirds, white-headed woodpeckers, harlequin ducks, osprey, western tanagers and MacGillivray's warblers. While birding is the heart of the weekend, activities will also include geology, wildflowers and the arts. June 7  - Bavarian Bike & Brews Festival  

IMBA Sanctioned XC Bike Race, a spectacular, rigorous 8.6 mile race with 1,800 elevation gain per lap. A beer festival with many breweries attending follows the race. www.dasradhaus.com

Winter Activities

Cross Country Skiing:

Lake Wenatchee State Park
Sno Park: located 1 mile from the Ranch, 4 loop trails, 15 miles of Groomed Cross Country Ski trails. Info at Lake Wenatchee Ranger Station at 509-763-3103 or at

Nason View Trail:
Starts from the Kahler Glen Golf Course and goes just above Nason Creek...look down at the Pine River Ranch from the trail.

Chiwawa Sno-Park offers some great skiing. (look for blue diamond trailblazes)

The Sea & Ski Trail is about 5 miles & follows along the Wenatchee River

Flying Loop Trail climbs 600 feet (for experiences skiers) and has views of Entiat Ridge, Chiwaukum  Mountains and the Plain Valley.

Squirrel Run Trail: an easy rolling trip through mostly forested areas, crosses snowmobile trails often, use caution. (snowmobile trails are marked with orange trailblazes)

Mission Ridge Ski Area is about 60 miles east of us. On a clear day, enjoy a great view of the Wenatchee area. Dry snow.  www.missionridge.com

Ski Hill– the original owners of the Pine River Ranch helped contribute to the development of a ski jump located at Ski Hill.  It was used for training by the early US Olympic ski jumpers. The hill is accessed by two rope tows and maintained by the Leavenworth Winter Sports Club. www.skileavenworth.com

Snow Shoeing

The Pine River Ranch snowshoes are free to use.
Strap them on at your leisure. We’ll give you a quick lesson if you like and give you tips on enjoying the valley. There is nothing like the quiet and solitude of trekking through the snow. Fishing & Hunting
A variety of fishing is available. Fish Lake is very popular for trout fishing. Mule deer and elk hunting is also available. Check with the Department of Game for season information and details.

Golf
Whether you like to putt-putt or tour 18 holes...you can do it all.

Enzian Falls Championship Putting Course: On Hwy. 2, across from the Enzian Hotel.  Nicely landscaped. All equipment provided. $10.00 a round.

Icicle Junction Miniature Golf: Just as you go in to town on the right. $5.50 a round.

Hiking

The Wenatchee National Forest consists of 2.2 million acres and approximately 40 percent is designated as Wilderness in seven Wilderness Areas: Lake Chelan- Sawtooth, Glacier Peak, Henry M. Jackson, Alpine Lakes, William O. Douglas, Norse Peak, and Goat Rocks. There are over 2,500 miles of recreational trails...be sure to pack a lunch!

Rock Climbing
Equipment rental in Leavenworth. Some very popular rock faces. In the summer you can normally see rock climbers from the highway while driving between the PRRanch and Leavenworth.

Summer Theater
